Making sense of blood count results

Hey everyone. Needing a bit of advice with making sense of blood results. I have been on sulfasalazine 2000mg a day to treat crohns and inflammatory arthritis. Since taking them, there have been fluctuations with my liver and kidney but this has now settled. My blood count has been consistently lower. Hb has largely ranged from 100-109 and red blood currently 3.72. This hasn't been drastic enough to take me off the meds so they continue to monitor, now monthly. Blood was normal prior to starting. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this/ has any advice. I'm not really sure how to make sense of it, whether this is an issue or not. Many thanks!!!

Hi Gowp77,

blood test results can be tricky as there are so many things to consider. You may find this website helpful:

labtestsonline.org.uk/

But quite often when you look up a test it will say that you need to compare with the labs reference sample.

Hope this helps
