Bump near nose ring

can anyone tell me what this is and how to get rid of it? i have been putting rubbing alcohol on it but it doesn't seem to be helping all that much. i also put tea tree oil but i'm not sure if that has been doing much either. i really do not also want to take out my piercing, and so i'm looking for ways to "cure" this bump. but if it gets any worse, i will for sure take it out. i'm just looking for other options because taking it out is my last resort. thank you, every reply will be appreciated so much!

Go to your gp in case this is an abcess and needs antibiotics.

Personally I would take it out. You can get some pretty nasty infections from piercings however long you have had them. The last thing you want is permanent scarring on your face. You can always get the piercing revised.

thank you for the tip, if it comes to it, i will! i don't want it to be scarred so yes, i agree. thank you.

Hi, has your bump healed completely? Can you please advise in more details how you took care of it? (have the same exactly). Thanks

hey, it has healed! it’s quite weird, actually. the bump at first only went down when i changed it from a ring into a stud. i guess because the stud doesn’t move around as much as the ring does? but anyway, i kept in the stud for a bit, but kept changing it between that and a ring. the ring never produced a big bump like that again, but it did hurt WAY more than having a stud in did. eventually i tried to keep a ring in, but same thing happened again- it hurt... and a tiny bump began to develop. but then one day i was taking a bath, and the bathroom was super humid, and i took out the ring i was using, and put in a different ring. i drenched it A LOT in rubbing alcohol, polysporin, etc. anything that gets rid of infections. and ever since, my ring has had no pain, and there’s been no bump! idk what changed, but i’m so glad. i hope things work out for you.

no problem! sorry i didn’t have a definitive way that i got rid of it- it just happened. but i hope the best for you! in all honesty, tea tree oil made my bump worse, whereas rubbing alcohol and polysporin over the hole and bump really helped. best of luck!! xx

You may need just a dose of antibiotics? Bang and it gone? Not sure, but just see what you Doctor says. Good luck!

update: hello all! i found out that a combo of salt water/salt on my nose and then rinsing the salt off with a diluted apple cider vinegar is doing the trick! thank you all!

Hi Nanda2031

My daughter has a similar bump from her nose piercing. Has yours completely gone now? Did you only use salt and apple cider vinegar in the end?

Thanks!
