Yesterday I saw my RA nurse a lovely lady as been having a few problems and the spit test I did for the GP (at my request as had same cough for a year, 7 lots of antibiotics and chest Xrays as well. It comes and goes really) The sputem test had a posative result andadvised contact gp asap. On leaving the hospital there was 3 missed calls on my mobile ring the surgery now.!
Upshot is Ive got a bug in my lungs that is antibiotic resistant!!! So saw gp who rang microbiologist at local hospital and advised take this, if not gone in 7 days its chest ct scan and see the lung microbiologist.
The RA is bad at the moment and I was given twice the normal dose of steriod injection at 160mcg but I'm still waiting for it to take effect. So a sofa day and I'm going to catch up on the '100' on Amazon (I like SciFi) and "Vikings". It has an upside as told to take it easy and no sunbathing as this antibiotic wil affect the skin. So fingers crossed it works and have a great weekend everyone I'm about to make a cup of tea and instruct hubby on weeding the borders. x

Have they told you exactly what bacteria you have? Have they checked for TB? On my blood screenings before starting Biologics they picked up TB bacteria. I'm now about to have a biopsy to test fluid and tissue in my wrist ( joint destroyed by RA) as MRI results showed more than just RA. Just curious if they have considered TB for you.
Yes its about a 2inch long word, but TB was not mentioned. Thank you I'll ask about that next week as my dad had it as a young man in his throat. He recovered to live a long life though. I'm waiting to find out when happens next.
I hope you get on alright as that is clearly more that RA. Let us know what happens with your wrist, and I hope that you feel better soon. x
Thanks for your support. Keep me up to date too. Hoping you get results soon with a straightforward cure, possibly a course of antibiotics ? Hoping you don't feel too unwell with the addition of the bacterial infection as RA enough to deal with!
Had the tests now etc. just see him again next week. Thank you for asking. x I do know the bacteria just can't spell it ! its antibiotic resistant but ILD has been mentioned but feeling great and in remission again so not too worried.
