It means you have wear and tear arthritis in one of more joints -which you probably know as they will be painful. You also have some inflammation in the tendons along your forearm - probably also painful! Tendons are the things that link muscles to your joints - when you chop up a joint of meat they're the stringy white bits.
A nerve conduction study is just checking that there isn't damage to the nerves, as well as the inflamed tendons, so they are being thorough and careful.
thanks...what is the difference between R/A and oestearthritis?
Osteoarthritis is often called wear and tear arthritis, as it is when the joints get damaged often from age or extreme use like in some sports. There are slightly different types, but that's the most usual.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disease where your body's immune system turns on itself and attacks the joints. YOu have a lot of inflammation as well, so you feel exhausted. It can also attack things like heart, lungs and eyes.
But both are equally painful!
