How does it know?

Just one of those random questions that popped into my head.

Do some days it is both shoulders which are worse, sometimes it is both wrists, both hands, both knees or a mixture or all of above but always both of each - why? Why not a selection of the left hand side or some of each?

How does RA know to go for both sides together?

Because it can't tell its left from its right so does both to be sure?

Although even tho' being symmetrical is a classic sign of RA, mine often isn't so I have left knee and right shoulder one day, and right toe and left elbow the next...

Mine alternates especially between the shoulders, go figure there's no reason I can think of. Sometimes after more walking the usual my hips give me hell but the rest just seems to random and depending how far of my humira inj is.

Sorry I carnt help it doesn't effect everyone the same.

Hmm. I don't get symmetrical aches and pains. Its more of a wonky pic n mix effect but, hey, it stops me getting bored.

Mine's quite random - sometimes symmetrical, sometimes one-sided, sometimes a reason (e.g. over use) sometimes no reason.

Sometimes I wonder if I've upset someone in the past and they've made a little wax model of me and are sticking pins in it !!!! (only joking, but I can see why people believed in witchcraft in the past!)

Ha ha ha! THAT is exactly a thought that has crossed my mind.

The pain being random, sometimes so excruciating that I have contemplated cutting my hand off. ( not really... but you know what a mean.)

So good to see I'm not the only one and this isn't all in my head.
