NRAS Group Meetings— Week Commencing 15th May 2017
Swansea NRAS Group
Meetings are held at Sketty Parish Centre, De La Beche Road, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 9AR (on the corner with Gower Road - A4118) on a Monday from 7:30pm-9:00pm.
15th May - Guest speaker: Dr Shaun Smale, Consultant Rheumatologist and Laura Eales, Rheumatology Sister at Singleton Hospital will host a question and answer session with updates on treatments for RA
Hertfordshire NRAS Group
Quarterly meetings are held at Welwyn Civic Centre, Prospect Place, Welwyn AL6 9ER on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
16th May - Guest speaker: Caroline Sheehan, Reflexologist
Three Counties NRAS Group
This group meets at St. Francis Church Hall, 121 Upper Chobham Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU15 1EE bi-monthly on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
16th May - Guest speakers: Chante Cardona, Pain Nurse Specialist & Karin Cannons, Nurse Consultant - Pain Management will present: ‘Different types of pain, their management and medicines’
Torbay NRAS Group
This new group will hold their meetings at: Barton Baptist Church, Happaway Road, Barton, Torquay, TQ2 8HJ once every other month on a Tuesday from 7:00-8:30pm.
16th May - Guest speaker: Dr. Lucie Wilk, Locum Consultant Rheumatologist, Torbay & South Devon NHS Trust will present: ‘Taking a Holistic Management Approach to RA’
Heart of England (Solihull) NRAS Group
This NRAS group meets on a Wednesday every other month and have a NEW meeting venue, now to be held at: Solihull Women’s Institute, 745 Warwick Road, Solihull, B91 3DG from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Wednesday 17th May - Claire Charnley (Physiotherapist) will be joining us for a question and answer session and an informal discussion on keeping fit and exercise.
Blackpool NRAS Group
Blackpool and District NRAS Group (BADRAG) meet in the cafeteria at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, Lytham St. Annes, FY8 1PB from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on the third Thursday of alternate months.
18th May - 'RA and its effects on the organs' by Dr Rao, Consultant Rheumatologist
East Dorset NRAS Group
The East Dorset group meet socially for coffee from 11am at Stewarts Garden Centre, Lyndhurst Road, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 4SA and also Haskins Garden Centre, Longham, Ferndown, Dorset BH22 9DG. Upcoming coffee morning is as follows: 18th May at Stewarts.
North East NRAS Group
The North East Group run quarterly educational meetings which are held in Function Room 137, Education Centre, Level 1, Freeman Hospital, High Heaton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE7 7DN from 5.30pm-8.00pm.
Thursday 18th May - Guest speaker: Dr. Terry Aspray, Consultant at the Freeman Hospital with a special interest in metabolic bone disease and osteoporosis
North Lincolnshire NRAS Group
This new group will hold their meetings in: the large meeting room at Cromwell Road Fire Station, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN31 2BN (plenty of free parking) once every other month on a Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm.
18th May - ‘Meet, greet and getting to know you’ - Finding out what you want from the new group, discussing ideas for guest speakers and topics to be covered for future sessions – help to make it your group!
Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group
The Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group are holding all future meetings in the outpatients waiting area at the Haywood Hospital, High Lane, Burslem, ST6 7AG on the third Thursday of every other month from 7:00-8:30pm.
18th May - Chris Murray, local Yoga Instructor will do a talk on 'the benefits of seated yoga'
Yeovil NRAS Group
The Yeovil NRAS group hold coffee mornings once a month from 10:30am-12pm in two locations in Yeovil: Palmers Garden Centre Coffee Shop, Bernards Way, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, BA20 2FH and The Gateway Cafe, Addlewell Lane, Yeovil, BA20 1QN. Next coffee morning and location: Thursday May 18th - Palmers
