Ankle replacement

I had an ankle replacement on January 19th. This is my second. I had my other ankle done in 2004, and so far this one is far less painful. I am wearing a surgical boot until March 9, but wondering how much weight bearing u should be doing. Anyone who wants to chat us welcome.

Can't comment on ankle replacement but I had tendons re attached, bone pinned on side of foot and toes pinned in July last year and had to wear a boot. The boot was meant to be on for 12 weeks but unfortunately, toes weren't successful (4 remain completely broken) and I'm still wearing the boot today. That aside, in terms of weight bearing, I had to keep boot on even in bed the first 48 hours after this, I could weight bear and walk about in house, being told to take regular tests and elevate. After about 3 weeks, I cakild walk about as usual - with the boot on?

Now that I've re read this, I'm not sure it actually helps at all?

In the last 10 years have had triple foot fusions on both feet. Was non weight baring for 12 weeks, then allowed to put weight on before going in a boot. Was told what to do every step of the way ( sorry for the pun )by the surgeons or the foot and ankle specialty nurse, mine were done at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in Stanmore. I would contact the hospital for the correct procedure for you. All the very best. X
