Aches an pains : Hi I'm thru my second week on... - NRAS
Aches an pains
Well, it is the time of year for nasties going around so we're more likely to fall foul of something. If you have a sore throat & fever (38ºC or above) I'd let your Rheumy nurse know, particularly as you're new to sulfasalazine. I'm not sure your GP will be au fait enough with SSZ with it being a specialist med to know if you'd need to stop it if that's what you're thinking but see him if you think it's not viral. I take it you had your annual flu jab?
In the meantime keep your fluid intake up & dose with paracetamol if you you're not already prescribed anything with paracetamol in it. A nice soothing drink is hot water with fresh lemon & honey (Manuka if you have it for it's antibacterial goodness), snuggle up & hopefulkynit'll soon pass.
I hope you feel better soon.
I was diagnosed a year ago and was given sulfa and 30mg of pred whilst I was increasing on the sulfa and decreasing the pred for 6 months I was exhausted , kept getting flare ups and had to have days off work imobilisedbon the settee, a year in I have got to my correct dose of sulfa and reduced my pred to 3mg. The fatigue has gone and the ra is managed, so have hope, stick with it and fingers crossed you will feel and manage a lot better
