I was at the drs before christmas and i was told i had blocked sinuses. Then after christmas i was back again and told it was a virus, then last week i was back at the drs and i was told it would take weeks for the virus to go. My face is very sore with the cheekbone round my right eye and it is very dark and swollen as is the other eye though not as bad. My vision is not very good because of it. Also i get very clammy,sweating yet cold to touch. I have had no sleep this last night. To add insult to injury my back and fingers have decided to join in the party and caus me pain. At the moment i can't seem to get ahead of this damn virus. So this morning i am feeling very sorry for myself.

Hi sylvia. ..oh dear it doesn't sound like you've had a good Christmas. .. my friend had a few things like that first gp said a virus. ..she went back after a week and demanded to see another gp...he's diagnosed her with bronchitis and said she's probably had it the three weeks she's been ill ...so please maybe ask for another opinion even if it is the same...hope you feel better soon ..sarn xx
I haven't slept properly for seven years since breast cancer side effects of my tablets so I just have maps during the day a couple of times I'm awake every couple of hours in the night im absolutely whacked all the time and get fed up of people saying we'll uoure still alive!!

Sorry your not feeling too good at the moment Sylvi, I had something similar just before Christmasand it affected my hearing, was told it was congestion of the sinuses and head, told to inhale oblas oil in hot water or anything menthol to clear the sinuses, this helped a little, but what I found the best was my hay fever tablets (antihistamines) and nasal spray, cleared up within a week. Not sure this would help you though. Good luck with your appointment hope they can help alleviate your symptoms soon.
Hope you are soon on the mend, but this virus is awful. My mum has almost identical symptoms. She started with a cold and a sinus infection. She then developed the coughing virus, and she's been in bed for the last three weeks. She is 82 and normally in very good health apart from a bit of arthritis in her shoulder. Fortunately she came to stay with us for Christmas so I am able to care for here.
