Chicken pox and RA: Hi guys my wee grand daughter has... - NRAS
Chicken pox and RA
I got chicken pox at 59 and boy was that fun in the ER. I couldn't get out of there because none of the medical staff had ever seen some as "old" as me with chicken pox... Let's hope you didn't catch it. It's pretty much not fun as an adult =)
Same thing happened to me was visiting grand daughter in Dublin as the spots were coming out so had to stay as we were over from Scotland i was fine so hope you will be ok
I had chickenpox at 42 courtesy of my then-5-year-old son! I didn't have RA diagnosed then but boy did I suffer. Even my doctor recoiled in horror.
If you've been given antivirals you should be fine though. It's unusual to find people our age who haven't had chickenpox yet, no idea why there isn't a vaccination programme for it. My GP said it's because of the risk of shingles?
Good luck and good health!
