Hi all, I have just joined the community having recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After 2 years of suffering it was actually a relief to finally get a diagnosis!

Welcome sloth-roj

You're in good company here. Fantastic forum with very warm people.

It's a process isn't it - from that first pain to diagnosis ? Hopefully now you'll get some treatment that works for you and sees you in the road to recovery .

Wishing you luck.

Hey welcome!

It's a long old slog isn't it? Hope you're Ok? Have you got a good GP, and rheumatologist?

Seems to take an absolute age to get diagnosed. Took ages for me too.

I was very lucky and have a good gp. She listened to how I felt and said that I may have RA and sent me for blood tests. These came back positive. Whilst waiting for consultants appointment she gave me cocodamol and ibuprofen. Waited a few weeks for consultant who gave me scans and a steroid injection in the bum and started MTX. I was off work about 6 months.

Then I went back to work in residential care. I only need Mtx 20mgs injection once a week and folic acid. I have been back at work 2 years. I think I am very lucky 😀👍
