Hi everyone
My future son in law told me that his his father was dx with RA in his 30s, he has been taking apple cider vinegar since then then and his RA has been in remission ever since. Has anyone else had experience of this please.
I drink a little apple cider vinegar, I also eat quite a bit of fermented foods. Hasn't done much for the arthritis, but it's good for gut health.
Bacteria they say is linked to RA , TRUE ?
There is a type of reactive or viral arthritis that hits hard, but then can go away. Perhaps that's what he had? My lodger (male) also had that in his 30's and said it was awful for 18months and then went. No apple cider vinegar involved.
I know some people find apple cider vinegar helpful, but certainly does nothing for me except making interesting salad dressings. Which is not to say diet can't help some, but for an aggressive and erosive RA then these approaches are unlikely to touch it.
I'm not so sure it works. I always hear of someone's father/mother/uncle's friend used it and it cured them.
Sadly, there's been no conclusive proof to help us all to consider it to be a valid treatment. That's not to say that it may work, just that it's not been proved. I'd LOVE it to work! Cheap treatment from the supermarket - what could be better!?!
Thank you for your reply, yes it would be good x
As I mentioned, it might not be good for RA ( doesn't work for me!) but it's very good for gut health, which is important.
No harm in trying 😄
I was told by my dr to take cider vinegar in warm water to help reduce chlorestal,i take it with squash to ofset the taste.xxxxx
There's a old wives tail if you mix cider vinegar with honey and warm water I know vinegar is used to reduce fat in the body for a long time so dose plj
I there is a choice I would stay away from malt vinegars. Otherwise I have had no bad reports of vinegar input and often it can seem to be helpful. You might want to check out

In my opinion anything that helps gut health is a must. The Margaret Hills Clinic advice on a reducing acidosis makes sense to me.
Thanks Andy, very interesting. It brought back memories of my mother taking cider vinegar for her OA in her back, many years ago, really don't know if it worked. My much loved mother died age fifty eight from lung cancer. I started using it a few months ago, as a dressing for my lunchtime salad, so nice. Alway interested in diet and gut health. My RA is pretty much controlled with meds and diet, just a a few things that crop up from time to time, to let me know it's still there.
I gargled with cider vinegar a few months ago when I had oral thrush. I believe it did make a difference. I've tried to drink it for digestive system but gave up because of taste! I have not heard of it helping RA, but wouldn't rule it out.
I believe they conducted a trial on one of those tv health programmes into this and turmeric - can't recall name of programme now though. The outcome showed no evidence of either having anti-inflammatory properties but both generally healthy as part of a well balanced diet I think. It wasn't for RA but might have been for arthritis -maybe worth researching if you want more clarification? I'm always interested in gut health but have to be careful about foods relating to apples or containing certain acids as they can make my GERD worse.
I drink theveryday turmeric and pepper tea, I notice the next day I feel slightly better, like less tightness in fingers . I guess swallon..any one else drink it..
I took Apple cider vinegar for years and it didn't help, I don't think it did much harm but didn't do me much good either...... You are VERY lucky if it does work for you I think......
No but i have heard wonderful claims of the strengths of cider vinegar, maybe stupidly i thought "if it was that easy why hasnt it been further explored? and why precribe these expensive drugs with all their side effects?, so i didnt try it but i wish you luck if you go ahead.
Blessings.
I've heard of it . But it's like 3 table spoons a day. I wonder anyone ?
My aunt is on her eighties told me to try cider vinegar with a little bit of honey and warm water to get rid of the taste she said it helped with her arthritis. Unfortunately like all other daft ideas like spraying WD40 on your joints doesn't actually work. Placebo effective, maybe you convince yourself that things work and you get relief temporary.
It has (weirdly!) helped me with acid reflux. I had a constant cough for months, doc said it was due to reflux and gave me omeprazol. I really didn't want to take yet another med, so decided to try apple cider instead.
I knew my gut was a mess so also took it for that, along side other fermented foods, such kimchi and live yoghurt. Cough has gone!
Fermented foods are contraindicated with certain drugs so be sure to check first.
Nothing weired about it! This is one of the many bennefits of apple cider vinegar There are actually many! And it really has a long history of helping with many health concerns Curing AI diseases is however not one of them.
Hi folks. I'm 63 and have had rheumatics in my legs and knees since the age of 16. I am due to have two knee replacements but I'm really trying to avoid surgery if possible. I have restless legs because of arthritis in my knees as well which is very irritating at night especially when your trying to sleep. I heard about Apple Cider Vinegar a few months ago and decided to give it a try...All I can say is Thank you God! ..It has helped me no end and has relieved my symptoms 60%. I can now walk a lot better and the pain has been lowered. I'm not saying that this is a cure, but it's better than chemical medications. Here's my recipe. . 1 tablespoonful of Natural honey in a glass of hot boiled water to melt and mix it. 2 tablespoonfuls of Apple Cider Vinegar (not supermarket one) ' Braggs' natural with the 'Mother' unrefined (from Amazon) mix well and let it cool down to drink. I find it better cold. Do this everyday and you will feel like new. Hope this helps someone, It has helped me a lot.
