Ugh seems the gremlin has decided to hide out in my jaw joint. Hurts like mad! Can't open mouth or close teeth. Been checked out and def the joint and not teeth or ears. Anyone else experience this?

I have sjogrens and my left salivary gland used to swell with severe pain . It took 18 of going to dentist , wearing mouth guard as thought i was grindin teeth , until finely found cause leading to diagnoses of sjogrens. I am able to control it mostly by massage and a heat pack helps the pain. I hope you find the cause as you will know then what you are dealing with. Drink lots of fluid and rinse mouth with salt water , may also help, good luck🌸

Heat helped with mine and it improved as my meds eventually kicked in. Dreaded going to the dentist whilst it was bad and had to think about what food to prepare/eat - luckily never got as far as having to blend food or having just soup. Farm

Yes I've had this a few times. I've found this to be the most painful part of having RD. Luckily for me it doesn't last to long 2-3 days. I find heat helps & rest. Hope you feel better soon.

Suffered dreadfully in my jaw when I had my horrid polyarthritic onset last year! One of the worst sites in my opinion. So uncomfortable and painful, no escape. Sending you much sympathy. Hope you get relief soon.

I have the jaw thingie too, almost from the onset of RD 5/6 years ago. Still very active. Jaw set I one place now about 2 years after jaw locked twice. I steroid injection usually helps with the lock but the pain is still there and I have to ear small amounts at a time too.

Like someone els said I have a guard that I wear at night to stop me grinding my teeth as it is drinking my jaw at the same time. Last X-ray showed a perfect circle of jaw bone missing on the left side with the right side now starting to show signs of ware too. There is a replacement jaw available but I'm putting it off until I can do no better. J
