Well after my cheery Xmas wishes to everyone I had an appointment today with the RA Consultant and came away feeling quite low. My RA has been getting much worse over the last few months and I now have to increase the steroids to 30mg gradually reducing down to 5mg which is what I am currently on. I am also going onto MTX injections, again with an increase in dosage. FA to be taken 5 days plus he has referred me for an urgent app with the RA nurse. Oh well after seeing some of the very poorly people at the clinic I am grateful mine was diagnosed early. Take care one and all x

Yes, we've a lot to be thankful for having access to the meds we do now though it does seem inroads are being made for a new blood test to detect the destructive antibodies prior to the symptoms of RD by researchers at Oxford University. Sorry to hear you're not so well controlled though & I hope the steroids tackle the job as well as the MTX increase. I'm sure you'll find injections more convenient too. x

I believe injectable mtx is a lot more efficient than pills for many people. I found it put my RA into remission where it seems to have remained despite my not being able to tolerate any of the DMARDs I tried. Fingers crossed same thing will happen for you. Take care and happy Christmas.
