I had a bunionectomy with a metal plate five years ago. I cannot for the life of me remember when they took the stitches out .... but it seems likely that they will take yours out after eighteen days. I had to wear the horrible sandal thing - like strapping a tennis racket to your foot - after the stitches came out, I was in plaster before that. So seems probable we had slightly different procedures.

If the reason you're asking is because you're heartily sick of it all, so was I! It is dreary. But I got a wonderful result .... hang on in there if necessary & good luck.
