Good luck. I had to stop methotrexate also. Started sulfasalizine on 4 a day. Did nothing but side effects not as bad as methotrexate. Also now on hydroxychloroquine. Done nothing. Would say pain is worse in Ankles toes and wrists and fingers. Also migraine, horrible taste in mouth and vivid dreams.

Hope it works for you.

Hidebcarlcharles thanks for your reply, I also on the hydroxyl along with the sulfa, sorry it isn't working for you. I've just started treatment, so will have to see in time if it works for me. Fingers crossed it does. Thanks for your reply, and hope you feel better soon, Lady B x😊

Your welcome. My hair has started falling out again on hydroxychloroquine. Lost 30% due to the methotrexate. Booooooo!

Sorry to here that, I found my hair fell out quite a bit with the mtx, but I seem to be fine with the hydroxy, I suppose people are all different to the side effects of these medications, maybe ask if you can get another DAMARD if the loosing hair is to troublesome. Thanks again for reply 😊x lady B

Same happened to me and was doing fine on sulpha but they stopped it as my white cell blood count was very low. They left me for weeks and started to feel awful but the next drug has so many side effects so refused and gone back on low dose of sulpha. Hope u do well on it x

Hi bozzy150 thanks for your reply, I to hope I can tolerate the sulfa, as so many things you can still have with this med, as to the mtx which you can have, hope you feel better soon being back on the sulfa, and thanks for your good wishes for myself 😊x lady B

Goodluck. :)

I'm on hydroxy and sulfa with minimum side effects. The hydroxy turned my curly brown hair staight and blonde by the way. Strange huh?

I've been on hydroxychloroquine 400mg daily for 9 months now with medium results. 1000mg of Sulfasalazine was added on at the begining of june with better results. I've had to up my sulfa to 1500mg-2000mg a day and I am hopeful that this will make me "ME" again!! :)

take care

Sue
