Wondering if one can go back to Humira. Humira was proving ineffective after 14 years of use, had some tough times and was placed on Enbrel 1 year ago plus MTX. This combo is not really that effective and I have a lot of pain and joint damage. Has anyone had experience with going back on Humira, I can't get a straight answer from my doc.

Back to Humira??
I think it depends why you came off humira?
I was on cimzia and it was working like a dream. However, at the same time I started, I began vomiting on a daily basis. As it was so severe, my rheum took me off cimzia and I tried a new anti TNF. I was then diagnosed with a stomach condition that arose as a complete coincidence to starting cimzia. I begged to go back on it because humira isn't working as well but they said no because they took me off it, citing 'side effects' and NICE won't approve funding again.
That said, I know someone who did return to a biologic that they had tried before and had great success. It depends on how willing your hospital are to support the funding application.
Thanks, seeing my doc today and will discuss
Have alternative biologics been considered? I'm on rituximab
Hi
I came off Humira 15 months ago which had been controlling my joints well for over 7 years but it wasn't controlling my uveitis and so since then I have tried Cimzia, Abatacept and most recently Tocilizumab without success so have been on oral steroids to ttry and control things for over 5 months. I am now hopefully going to re-start Humira next week. My consultant is confident that it will work for me again but only time will tell. It still leaves me between a rock and a hard place in respect of my eyes but we will have to deal with those challenges as they arise.
I hope you get things back under control on treatment that works for you.
