Well, after a couple of complicated visits to the consultant lately; I'm back again today for an ultrasound scan of my ankle and then another appointment with my Consultant. They are looking to see if my ankles have synovial fluid due to the pain, swelling and stiffness that I have had now for several months. Even though I had a diagnosis of Psoriatic Arthritis back in January, they are still questioning this due to the fact that my blood work is all normal with no raised markers.
When I saw the consultant last week, he examined me and said that I do not have Fibromyalgia. That's a start I suppose!
My GP is convinced that I have Inflammatory Arthritis and my symptoms certainly indicate this.
Have now been on Mtx for 9 weeks with only some relief and my consultant said at last weeks appointment that he had more drugs up his sleeve! I showed him my fingers which each had developed what appeared to be the beginnings of nodules on each one. These are midway on the joints inside and are about the size of peas or slightly larger. He said that they were ganglions but mumbled something about nodules.
I'm thinking that if no synovial fluid is found today, then will I possibly be diagnosed with something else????
Fed up of this yo-yo ing backwards and forwards! I can see why people feel the need to give up
