MTX and ants

Quick update on the ant problem!! It went on to being a prickly burning and feeling like I had fleas so I rang the rheumy after my GP wasn't sure what was causing it. He has advised me to take antihistamines and drop MTX back down to 10mg. Hoping this helps the itchies as it was a killer at work today wriggling and scratching all day long.

I hope dropping your MTX dose & the antihistamines do the job. Did he have any ideas just why or what you're reacting to?

I only get to speak to registrars so far and they have no idea. Apparently the registrar will talk to him to see what they can do. I am not looking forward to this weekend icthy again

Just read your reply to Twitchy so thank you for making me giggle. I can just imagine.... scratching & wiggling, I do hope the antihistamine works for you! Also that the Registrar gets back to you promptly or even better you get to see the Rheumy he's getting advice from yourself. Sorry you've to keep your boot on longer though.

I am still the same this morning. I took an antihistamine last night but nothing much changed. Hoping that it woks today hahah It is going to be a long week, The worst part is when my leg in the moon boot itches I just can't get it off to scratch, way too many velcro straps to undo fast and even the ruler doesn't help. I must look really interesting to people passing by our pod who wonder what I am doing. :)

Let's hope it just needs to build up & gives you some relief. Those who look at you, just think how they'll wonder all day, more satisfying than being concerned about them when you've got itches that you can't get at!

I like laughing if I didn't I would be crying all the time. Just saw my cardiologist and he looked at me and I said "yeah I don't have enough going on so I thought I would fracture ,my heel" he just laughed at me. The registrar said she would ring back Thursday. Gee just before I take more and start the process all over again hahaha

I love funny photos. They make me happy and think about something else hahaha

Sorry to be a bit mono-thinking these days but it sounds very much how my parasthesia started. I was taken off MTX twice because of it but it seems MTX is in the clear as it has only worsened over the time I've been off it. Hope the antihistamines work for you.

I hope it isn't that. I also hope the antihistamine works too. I can't spend my day at work scratching and wiggling that would look great in meetings hahahah Even worse is that I have another 4 weeks at least in the moon boot so that will make for a lovely sweaty leg this summer.

I remember being at a trustee meeting and by the end I had the whole assembled gang all rubbing and itching and looking around for stray ants without me even uttering a word about my symptoms. Nowadays it's just like having legs up to thighs in acid tainted cold water with hot coals at the base.

Have you read the post about the Vagus nerve programme yet? You might find it as hopeful as I did re replacing drugs with electrical stuff. I'd go for it like a shot if offered a place on a trial!

Oh that is just awful I am sad that they can't do anything to help you. No I haven't read it yet but I will. I am in Oz so probably not doing it here for years yet.

Well this research is being done by the American College of Rheumatology and the lead rheumy professor I n Amsterdam so it's quite international.

I met a woman on way back from hospital yesterday who told me her son had RA and moved from rubbish level of treatment and care in North of Scotland to NZ where he was put straight on Humira and is now thriving once more.

It's a radio programme rather than something to read if that makes it easier for you?

Tx
