Good morning Carol! I think some gentle swimming will help a little to keep mobility despite the fluid build-up. I used to get severe fluid build-up in both my kees and I would feel better after gentle exercise (swimming is obviously best, especially if you have acces to a heated pool). I'd definitely avoid very strenous exercise though as that can be counterproductive.
August seems quite a long wait! I expect you have problems moving about due to the fluid? For me, it used to get so bad I couldn't even sit properly because my knees wouldn't bend because of the fluid.
Is there maybe a chance you can go to your GP, have the fluid drained and have steroid injections into the affected joints? When I couldn't take it anymore I phoned my GP and they were able to do the procedure there and I didn't have to wait for the apointment a the Joint Injection Clinic.
Hope this heps a bit!! Have a lovely Sunday
All the best, Christine x
My physio gave me gentle knee massage, that helped. Next one tomorrow
They tried steriod injects in both knees last feb, I ended up in hospital made me very ill. Can't have it ever again.
I'm just back from the physio who gave me massage on knees which are swamped with fluid. She asked me if I'd had guided removal of fluid using ultrasound. I hadn't but that she thought might help. But she does 30+ min massage on knees and they feel much less tight.
