I itch all over my body at night. I don't know why, I don't think it's the laundry detergent I'm using cause I have used it for a while now.

I sleep next to someone every night and they don't itch at all. Don't think it's bed bugs, I itch so much In some spots it feels like a bruse is coming and it hurts. When my back itches I get these bumps that look like mosquito bites. I have no clue why I'm so itchy! Anyone have this happen or any ideas of why? I use lotion so my skins not dry, this is driving me crazy! During the day it's only my shins that start to itch.

I have itchy skin but it doesn't come up in lumps and you can't see anything. What medication are you on? I found that the itching got much worse when I was taking Hydroxychloroquine so had to stop. But it sounds like you may need an anti histamine. You should go to speak with your doctor. Clemmie

And you may need bloodtests because there are lots of causes of itchy skin. So, definitely see your GP. Clemmie

I suffered badly with itching while on Methotrexate, my head especially, which would erupt with little red bumps too.

Between my shoulder blades and around my waist and tummy, I was taken off Methotrexate because of other side effects, nausea, eye blurring and severe hair loss.

I've since started a course of Etenercept (Enbrel) and have had hardly any itching for the last 8 months, it's a like miracle! i was diagnosed with acute urticaria at the hospital by the dermatoligist and was given hair and skin treatments, which I only use occasionally now.

Do see your doctor, as it's very stressful and depressing to cope with the itching as well as having to cope with RA as well.

Hi there! I was just googling why I am so itchy! And I saw your post and you said that methotrexate can make you itch. I have RA and taking "meth" and plaquale. If that is true that meds make you itchy then I can rest! I am going crazy about the scratching. Thank you for he heads up

You mention a cream. Try something like dermol which is perfume free. I found that my skin allergy was down to perfume in moisturiser

As it's only at night you should still consider your detergent. I have had allergic eczema for 40 years but I can still become allergic to something I have used for years. Plus companies are constantly changing the formulas, your detergent could be the problem. As your in bed and warm it can become more of a problem then. But you should also have it checked out.

I found this site searching exactly the same itching problem at night. Now you mentioned i bought a new detergent call XTRA. And thats when all my teouble started. I am rewatching all my clothes with just water. Hopefully that is the cause.

Hi,

I get the type of itching you describe usually after I have had my infusion so I think mine is related to this. Is there any pattern to the days you get the itching?

Literally the same exact thing happens to me. I am on methotrexate, and I do happen to use X-tra laundry detergent.
