Biotin has helped me not lose so much hair w my meds. I'm not familiar w your med. Ask your doc if biotin is safe for you to take. It takes a few months to see results. I've been taking it for almost 2 yrs and it also works to strengthen nails.

Hi there

I've been on Rituximab for 4-5 years and it seems the hair on my head gets thicker and thinner during the treatment cycle (although I seem to have lost hair most other places!). Overall though it has been fine and is better since I stopped dyeing my hair. I was wondering what dose of folic acid you are on with methotrexate as that is meant to stimulate hair growth. I have been told that our rheumatology department goes for the maximum recommended ie every day except for the day you are taking MTX so if you are on less than that it might be something to explore

Do hope that you get this sorted

All the best with it

I've only recently been diagnosed and started on Mtx. My hairdresser says he finds the hair consistency of people with RA seems to be coarser. Regarding my concerns on hair loss he suggests the male shampoo Alpecin. He said it strengthen hair roots and prevents loss. Also to occasionally use the lotion to Strengthen hair roots.
