I have sero negative RA which is why it took a while to diagnose as bloods normal. The rheumy wants bloods to test inflammation scores.

They are in a normal range which is why it took so long to diagnose. I asked why they would check just for the inflammation markers only when they are always normal and show no evidence of inflammation. The rheumy said it was to see if they go up. It seems odd to,check for something that is and always has been in the normal range?

I am sero negative inflammatory arthritis but my inflammation markers have been high since I first started asking for someone to help me nearly 18 months ago now. They may be looking for any changes or monitoring to see if anything makes a difference maybe.

Hello BOB here

All te best

Hi I don't have sero neg RA as my RF factor is mildly positive. At initial onset which was acute for about 2 weeks my crp was a bit elevated.

Then for over 2 years all my inflammatory markers were within normal range even though I did have symptoms that came and went. I could never understand how I could feel so bad but gave normal bloods. So, like you this delayed diagnosis until this summer.

They have continued to check my bloods and in the last 6 months my crp has slowly been creeping up and up and hasn't been within normal range. So I guess they are continuing to check you because things do change. They also use your inflammatory blood results to work out your DAS score, which I only found out last week.

Hope this helps and your coping ok? Rx

Hi

I have a mildly positive RF factor but have been diagnosed with PSA because of how it presents itself. I too have a awful lot of pain that moves around a lot and despite having two weekly blood tests, they always come within the normal range! Personally I think it is advantageous to check for any slight deviances. My doctors seem more fixated with checking that my body is coping with the meds more than the inflammatory markers instead of taking everything into account.

Good luck with yours.

Sophie
