The patient leaflet says that raised blood pressure is one of the common side effects of Leflunomide. Well, not that common really....it says more than one in a hundred people might get that side effect which doesn't sound that common to me. Hopefully your doc will explain whether they think it is the Lef or not, and what to do about it. Polly

I am only on 10mg for last 5 and a bit weeks I haven't had that I have only had weirdo tingling, burning and numbness in my hands and feet. I got t rheumy on Wednesday to check how I am going. No one has taken my blood pressure at all they were more concerned with adverse reactions to drugs that I have hahahah

I was on it for a year and a half. I had huge sweats, high blood pressure, a racing heart, I had come off of it because my liver enzymes elevated. (A real shame, because with it and Daypro I was practically pain free!). When I went off of Lef., my sweats minimized, my heart stopped racing, and my blood pressure lowered. I not not even thought about these being side effects, until they started disappearing.

Hi Sarah

Think I may just have answered this query from you on Facebook as well. High blood pressure is certainly listed in the patient information leaflet and it suggests that this be regularly monitored. If you have high blood pressure this might explain the high pulse rate.

Kind regards

Hi Sarah

I too am on lefunamide. I was on 10mg daily for the last 6 months which has raised my blood pressure consistently to the region of 153/101. I have had dosage raised now to 20mg and have been told that I will have to have blood pressure medication added in too next week to counteract this problem.

I do sometimes get a racing heart, headache and occassional dizziness, blurred vision, which I understand can all be linked to the high blood pressure problem.

I would though suggest that you seek further true medical advise from your GP.

All the best, Sophie x
