Can RA cause forgetfulness
What was the question again? Lol well I get it especially when I am fatigued, I call it Brain Fog!!
Hi Well Alanah used my joke and i've forgotten the rest, lol. But seriously I do think we get forgetful wether its the RA or fibro or drugs, I had to give up work i was a travel consultant and used to forget what i was talking about and where people had asked to go it was serious, so i retired, I did get a tip from someone that said repeat a poem you know or song or even the alphabet it helps to keep the mind going. hope that helps ......Tricia P xxx
Definitely! Keys, mobile phone, gym bag when I'm going to the gym etc. I went through a spell when it was really bad a few months back but I'm happy to say my memory is improving again. I remember putting a bottle of Fabric Conditioner in the fridge because I thought it was milk...No, I didn't put the milk under the sink!
I had about 3 months when it was really bad but it's definitely improved again - I'm on methotrexate.
Good Luck
My brain fog drives me and family and friends bonkers at times. sometimes we laugh about things, but sometimes it is so annoying. only today i told a friend on the phone to hold as i had to answer the door, after being at the door i sat down, then was alarmed as a loud beeping started, even then i didnt think it was the phone, i thought it was the lap top. had to ring her back, good job she understands, she gets brain fog too.

So glad I read this post,I though it was onlyme,I have miss doctors appointments, for got about food in the oven and have now started to leave stick it notes all around the house.I hope it gets better, I have been on mtx for three years but have only got for got full, since taking ibruefen.
My daughter-in-law said that she thought I had Alzheimer's when I was on methotrexate. i felt very muddled and had to write everything down and tick off things once i had done them as i couldn't remember doing them.
Things seem much better since I'm off MTX (d-i-l agrees), now on azothiaprine as a "last resort", as I've been on every other DMARD.
But I guess we all get forgetful when our life is taken over by the awful constant pain and stiffness.
Hi
I asked my GP the same question and she said that sleep deprivation, due to pain, could cause this.
me too, it is very frightening, when people tell me that i said or carried out some task and i have no memory of it at all.Have to write everything down. Apparently lack of iron can cause it as well
