rheumatoid nodules
Are you sure these are rheumatoid nodules as opposed to Herbedian or Bouchard's nodes (sp?). I ask this because I have lumps on many of my finger joints now - including two knuckles - and I believe most of mine are OA related. If you are sure then please can you describe them so I know what they look and feel like. I don't think there's anything you can do but if the are rheumatoid nodules they will probably subside when your RA is well controlled. Tilda
The rheumy nurse said they were rheumatoid nodules. They are raised white lumps on the side of four of my fingers and there,s a cluster of them on the front of my thumb which are very painful.
I have these as well, when I'm in a flare they become bright red & are hot to touch, like a burn. Really painful, makes it difficult to do anything, driving etc.. I'm guessing its to do with RA. Also have them on my toes. x
I had one on my elbow this time last year it was quite big the only thing that helped were steroidS. it wasn´t painful but still needed to be sorted. Hope you feel better and the pain subsides its awful being in pain. Poppy
