Took my folic acid the same day as my mtx by mistake ,

You"ll be fine! :)). Was told by my Rheumy that's it's fine to take it on MTX day but if you have any doubts contact your GP/Pharmacist or Rheumy team.

I agree, when i was discussing my meds with my GP, she couldn't understand why i don't take folic acid on the day i take MTX, Shirley xx

Everyone seems to do this sometimes! It doesn't do any harm. Like Angej says, contact GP if worried but this one seems to come up loads & Folic Acid is just to offset the side effects of mtx & at worst might make it a teeny-weeny bit less effective that's all. x

My consultant has always prescribed folic acid 7 days a week. I did chat with the hospital pharmacist about the options and we agreed to folliw rheumys instructions but due to info on here I have experimented with no folic acid on mtx day and taking folic acid in am when injecting mtx in the evening and tbh I have not noticed a difference.

So my advice would b not to worry on this occasion but follow rheumys advice when u can.

Of course...again I was told its fine as long as you stick within the recommended weekly units, but you do read conflicting info about this! I honestly don't think a drink every now and then is a bad thing especially as we have so much to put up with!! I found though once I started taking MTX I went right off it but took up chocolate instead Enjoy your drink but if you're worried consult your GP etc blah blah blah :)) xxxx

My Folic Acid is perscribed for every day. I had never heard of skipping it on MTX day until I got on here, so, ask your Rheumy and Pharmacist, of course. Loret x

I know they say we can but I've completely lost all desire for a glass of wine since being on MTX. Only used to have the odd glass at the weekend so maybe put off as I take my MTX on Friday night. x

i am a coeliac as well as having RA , so have to give up even more or substitute bread pasta and cakes etc with gluten free items (which aren't always very palatable) - so i feel that having a glass of wine (usually most days) on mtx is allowed in my book as long as i have regular blood tests and don't overdo it!
