Working out my finances, what has every one done with the extra cash?

Having looked in my purse I now realise just how much money you save by not buying those Nasty smoking things

Have now decided to put the money towards a holiday.

Give me some motivation

Great idea Tracey, yeah it is unreal and unbelievable the money you save from not smoking.

I didn't touch my savings from I quit in September until 2 weeks ago (usually I would have cleared it out at the beginning of December!) I booked a 5 night break in Vienna for my hubby's 40th in August, all paid for, night at the opera and day trip to Salzburg sorted too!

Happy shopping!!

Well done, I went to Florida last year, but was such a bad quitter that never really saw the benefit, so this year I've not smoked so far, we are going to New York in November, my husband also needs a new car for his work, commutes 500 miles every week, so busy saving for that & next year planning either Florida or California so def need to save, got sealed tins spending nothing & all my money is going in there lol

I got myself a lovely piano, a classic yamaha older than myself! Beautiful sound, I love it! Got it delivered Saturday the week before :)

I'm saving my "off the cigs" money for something I've always wanted to own - an American-built Fender Precision bass guitar...with a black body, maple neck and black scratch plate.

Got quite a way to go as they're not cheap but that's a good incentive to keep going.

I hear you, the piano costed me 5 times more than what I had saved...oh well, I'll have to stay off the fags for another 2 years... Great motivation! even if I wanted to smoke now, I literally wouldn't have money for it lol

Rome on Sunday for 3 nights and a case of wine (with a voucher)....can't smoke until March now (and how am I going to get on in Italy not smoking???)

Ah Dulavinsky, so jealous, I absolutely love Rome and have been there 3 times, just think how great it is going to be not having to worry about the flight and dying for a smoke, the hotel and room and hanging out windows to smoke in non smoking hotels, I used to get into such a panic about the whole thing, not anymore though, enjoy and look forward to hearing how you get on (have you been before?)

Hi rowen - yes went before for a day and raced around in about 5 hours - I just wanted to go back and spend some quality time there ...am sure I will end up stuffing my face as well! and you are right at least I won't be running outside every 5 minutes to have a quick ciggie!

Hey Tracey...remember me? You probably have no idea but you helped me sooo much back in March and April when my quit was so fragile...I trully thank you and be proud for yourself...I have saved around 1500 euros that I have used them to pay greek tax!!! Things get hard here! ;) thank you again and always...
