Thanks again for the advise and comments on my last post!
First of all, it's going a lot better, I almost never think of smoking in situations where i would usually smoke and the self-pity is pretty much gone. I keep pushing myself into situations where i used to smoke to get used to the not smoking.
A friend of mine decided to quit as well since he saw me 'succeeding', so that's very nice! We went out for drinks and got really drunk without smoking a cigarette.
That is a positive as well as a negative point though. I'm very happy we can already drink without smoking (yay!) , but because of the non-smoking I drink alot more. Normally you have a break every 20-30 minutes while drinking to smoke a cigarette but now it's just drinking forum.nosmokingday.org.uk/c..... .
Overall, i'm really happy with the last couple of days.
Thanks for the support. next milestone is the 21 days, and i hope to be able to make a post about that next week forum.nosmokingday.org.uk/c...

well done mate! Keep the momentum going...almost day 21
Brien ....Well done and glad to see you enjoyed a night out without smoking...Nice to have such a good friend. Yes that is one of the warnings that we must be careful not to indulge in something else like drinking ..Gambling ..etc...
You are doing great Brien and you're doing the right thing by making your quit fit in with your lifestyle and not doing it the other way round. When you say that 'the self pity has gone' I think you've hit the nail on the head for a successful quit. I think that's where a lot where a lot of us quitters fall flat. Success is all about the way we view quitting and you have exactly the right approach to it.
Good luck to you and your quit buddy. You can do this. x
