Well first and foremost smoking a cigarette will not reduce your stress it will increase it. Cravings are no different whether you are stressed or not. Just use your usual techniques to distract yourself whilst you are feeling like smoking. Drink water, piece of fruit, go for a run, watch a film, see a friend etc etc. Just don't smoke as you will feel worse afterwards.

Thanks francob, know what you said make sense, will keep ye updated

Here's my tip, very unethical, come outside as you would and smoke a virtual cigarettes, just close your eyes and do the hand movements and the breathing as if you were actually smoking. By the end of it, you will have had a good few puff of good air and your heart rate will have calmed, go back inside and deal with the situation, good luck!

Hey all, thanks for the advice, really surprised myself and dealt with the situation very calmly without a smoke. I was very anxious about dealing with my first stressor and glad it is over with and bring on the next one! Thanks Karri for your encouraging words.
