Hello and a very warm welcome, of course it's a addiction, do withdrawal may happen, but great news those feelings do subside, day 2 brilliant, if your ct, all the nicotine will be out your body after three days,
For many on here do indeed have failed quits behind them, but learn from them,
Please please hang tight, your body will thank you ten fold. All those added benefits of quitting can be yours
I,ll keep every thing crossed, tomorrow is a good as day as can be.
Great your with us, a friendly bunch
Keep posting and reading, sipping water helps, boiled sweets any thing just keep going
Hi Stu, welcome to the forum, I've found it to be a great help. I think you'll find most of us here have quit and caved on numerous occassions over the years. Well done on getting back on track.
This addiction is hellish eh but the cravings do start to lose their strength as you probably know with your 4mth quit, sounds like you are going Cold Turkey, I'm impressed.
im thinking about getting one of those e-cigs but people are telling me now to as its just replacing one type for another, really kicking myself for starting again after 4 month !
Don't worry about what done!!!
It's a new day tomorrow, there's no right or wrong way to quit, it's not a race, it's a long term goal, I used the patch method, ok for me, but loads of different options out there if you choose.
Keep posting
Hi Stu Welcome aboard.
I hope you can look at your last four months as a positive lesson that you CAN get through those early weeks - if you did it in January then you can do it now, and this time you've got the benefit of experience behind you. Keep busy, keep reading - I read the whole internet regarding quitting in my first few weeks! - and keep smiling - every day, every minute that passes without you lighting up is you winning! Celebrate your achievements all the way.
Wishing you well x
Welcome Stu and congratulations on your decision to get back up on the wagon - Most of us here have fallen off a few times, but as long as we keep dusting off and climbing back up, we will eventually learn how to hold on through the rough times and complete this journey
Welcome Stu and don't think your alone by caving in on your last quit, many have had many attempts before quitting permanently, never give up giving up.
Hi and welcome Stu, as everyone says, most of us have been there at one time or another (caved in). As people say, it's a lesson to be learnt, take from it and learn, today is a new day Anything that works for you, I take deep breaths and meditate. A lady I was taking to the other day used imaginary ciggies, others NRT.
I used an e-cig for the first couple of weeks (I am also on champix) but found that I was getting chesty with it and it seemed to counter the good effects of not smoking so I stopped. I used a nicotine free blend because of champix. My husband has a nicotine blend in his but he still prefers to smoke at the moment.... he's still at the 'thinking about it' stage....
Whatever suits you and stops you smoking....
thanks for the replies, i prefer the cold turkey method although i always seem to cave usually when alcohol is involved!
well day 3 is cracked and over with.
Awesome, well done Here's to an easy run through day 4! x
Good going on your day 3. Apart from recognising how well you did with your 4 months and how you can do it again, put it behind you for your quit now. It's a challenge, that's why we have smoked for so long despite everywhere telling us it ain't good.
Post on here or give support to others regularly, daily. Or just visit daily. It really does help. Accept you probably are going through what others are. See those posts of people with more weeks/months/years down than you. If you want to do it, you can. Do something really good with your new health kick. But, I'm early days. I'm at nearly 12 weeks, so who am I to give advice to you? Only that we all do have a commonality on here.
