Day 4 , whoop whoop, I am so happy how I have done and not given in but as I am writing this at nearly 3am just hoping sleep will be my friend again soon? Feel like I have a newborn again...thank God for Berocca....
Day 4 #yawn...: Day 4 , whoop whoop, I am so... - No Smoking Day
Day 4 #yawn...
Me again..been awake since 2.30am..had a massive craving at 5am, everything was telling me to get dressed and drive to the garage..I didn't and I could dance in the street literally ...I can do this...it feels so different this time...feel like parp and dreading the school run and generally the day but giddy as well ..reading threads on the board has been amazing...thank you all who contributed
Oh bless you , it does bring back memories of many a sleepless night, but for just about every one it does settle, as mr NICO realises who's in charge and it's not him.
Doing absolutely fantastic, so very pleased your happy , you should be, doing amazing just keep going, and do hope you have a treat planned for the week mark.
Maybe get something from the chemist to help you sleep, if it does not settle.
A huge congrats from me.
Thanks Tracey for responding!! Good idea about the chemist , with three kids I can't go on many more nights like this. I feel done in..will be worth it...have a great day Birthday girl x
Thanks Karri, I found watching Madonna be dragged off the stage over and over helpful (is that bad) to get me through it...
Fresh air sounds good, bed sounds nicer, if only...catch 22 as coffee helping me get through but not when I need sleep...ack...xx
Bless you, seems a good idea to pop to pharmacy for some short term help. So happy for you to have got to day 4, I know it's hard but you have done the worst days. I found at day 4 I could breath deeply without coughing! Good luck for today
Whilst the sleep problem is a pain Ali, what is fabulous to see is that despite it you are feeling great - because you're quitting!
Not only that, you're doing marvellously well
It will settle down eventually, but in the meantime try Kalms (or something similar) and try reducing or eliminating caffeine. If it does persist for weeks on end see a Doc, but it usually settles down as your body adjust to the new smoke and nicotine free you
Failing that, I have a big mallet and am more than happy to travel to help alleviate the sleeping problem
Thank God for Peppa Pig...after a trip to the local farm my youngest fell asleep and my toddler was happy curled up on the settee with me and a DVD..managed a few zzzs at least ..lol Capitan thanks for the mallet offer, no my hubby will gladly do it if I keep this up.
.
Pepper on a pig? Sounds tasty
Are things going ok today then, I hope so, and the offer still stands if you ever need it
Apart from being tired had a great day, ate loads , had a slab of chocolate cake as big as my head at the farm and I am sure my taste has improved already...had a couple of craves but just came on here or did something else...all good...might need the mallet to keep me away from the fridge
Honestly, the sleep thing will settle down eventually as your body adjusts to the new you, but if it's affecting things don't leave it, go to the Docs for some short term help - they'll be pleased to hear you are quitting too
Ah, the dreaded fridge, most of us have been there! I wish I'd started exercising at the start of my quit, but I wanted to focus on quitting 100% and deal with everything else later. As I've mentioned before, the weight is now coming down nicely, but it took me some time to focus on it.
Keeping busy and NOPE are definitely the order of the day,and week and month for that matter, you are doing all the right things to give yourself the best possible chance of success
