Popping my head around the door in anticipation of a January 1st quit, know my triggers, know my weaknesses so hoping this time will be my time :)

Hi Mina, this is my plan too. I have created a new group for anyone who wants to join and is starting their quit in the new year, its called ***New Year Freedom Fighters 2015**** , do you want to come and join me and we can get through this together?

best thing you can do in your whole Life in fact!

From a ex long term smokers point of view that one line could be post of month if not the year, so simple yet so true.

How lovely! :D

I was thinking of you, Mina, and you, Mrs Mash, over Christmas and wondering how you were getting on. It's wonderful to see you both back. I think this is your time- I can feel it in my water- and we shall all be here, to encourage, praise and cheer you on.

Hurrah for the January 2015 Quitters! :)

Hi Mina good to see you, I'm not on here as often as I was but I'll be rooting for you. Jan 1st worked for me last year, no reason it can't work for you this year. Come join the party on the 1st to celebrate the first day of your 'forever quit' and our arrival at the penthouse. I never thought I'd be here after smoking for so long, being desperate to quit yet not able to do so. You know you're going to have tough days but it does end and it's so worth the pain. Just keep saying NOPE and never let doubt creep into your mind.

Thank you so much for the support everyone - I am formulating a plan that I hope will serve me well :)

I remember from previous quits that my home was never cleaner, all the bathing left me with super soft skin, and I smelled lovely - so am looking forward to that bit again, as I expect, are other family members!!

I am REALLY looking forward to not punctuating my life with the quick "exit stage left for a fag" manoeuvre to feed the addiction, and feeling that sense of panic gently rising if this is problematic, or God forbid, delayed

Other bits of my plan:

I will remove all smoking related things from the house, and bin them

I will clean out the car so it doesn't smell like an overflowing ashtray

I will wash all clothes, including coats so they are fresh and tobacco free

I am going to practice deep breathing relaxation for trigger points through the day

I have started playing Candy Crush (gulp)

Got a new jigsaw to distract me

I will break habits associated with smoking, and create new ones

I will monitor my progress with an App

Have created some Pinterest boards just for me - one with horror pictures of the damage smoking does (this is pretty gruesome), one with the benefits of quitting, one with the rewards I will buy from the money saved (telescope is still on there but vying for 1st place with a Mulberry handbag :D ) and one full of motivational quotations,

I have decided, no alcohol in January

I have decided no going out in January

I am going to do the Daily Mail exercises as posted by Max - even if it is the Daily Mail

AND

I will use this forum - read and post, read and post - and take inspiration from all of you who have beaten this thing

Yes - I have a plan....but that said, all tips welcome!

Glad to hear the telescope is still on the agenda Mina, but can well understand why it is vying with the Mulberry handbag. However, no reason at all why you can't have both. After all, it won't be long before you've saved at least double the cost of both (not to mention all the other lovely benefits including the ultra-soft skin and hair that no longer smells of smoke). :)

This is YOUR time- I can feel it.....:D
