805 Days, Over 16,000 cigarettes

Hi everyone...

It's been a while since I've dropped in. Just wanted to say I haven't smoked for eight hundred and five days, and in that time I've not smoked over 16,000 cigarettes. I remember clearly how proud I was when I hadn't smoked in five days. Now I've added another 800 to the total.

I'm nothing special as a Quitmeister. If I can do it, you can do it.

Hang in there - it gets easier. :)

Fantastic :)

I really like it when 'old boys' drop in. It truly helps us still plodding in the general direction of the Penthouse.

I can't even comprehend what 16,000 fags look like?

Nor could most people. But if you do the math, it's the equivalent of one cigarette, between nine and ten miles long. Think of something about ten miles from your home, and then picture a cigarette that stretches from home to that point, and you'll see it.

Another way to wrap your brain around it is that it's over 150,000 puffs.

It rather blows your mind, no?

And I smoked one of those huge cigarettes every two years and seventy five days.

I think your maths is a bit askew here DGee.

16000 cigarettes laid end to end would be between 0.8 - 1 mile long depending on what size of cigarettes you smoked. Most are either 84mm or 100mm long.

None the less, still a pretty eye opening calculation!

Hmmmm... I multiplied 16,000 times 3 inches, yielding 48,000 inches, and divided by 5,280 .... oh. Rats. I was thinking a mile was 5,280 inches. It isn't. It's 5,280 feet.

So it's about 3/4 of a mile. Hmmph. Still too big to carry in my hip pocket. :)
