Just over half-way.....

I just thought I'd post an update, now that I am just over half-way to the Penthouse.

Firstly, I have to say that 6 months ago I could not imagine myself ever being this far along. It seemed to me that the people who were months into their quits must have had some sort of special powers which enabled them to get so far and although I wanted to get there, I couldn't see that it would ever happen for me. But it did..........there was the Champix, the brilliant support from this forum whenever I was in the depths of despair with my quit and an absolute detemination to be a non-smoker.

To anyone who is thinking of quitting or is in the early stages ........it is possible to live without stupid fags.....it can be a struggle at times (I've had mine, as have lots of others) but it is do-able and it really does get easier. These are not just empty words....they are the truth.....IT GETS EASIER. No special powers are required. Be determined, have strategies for coping, make use of the forum, read books like Easyway by Allan Carr, arm yourself with as much information as you can and keep in mind the person that you are aiming to become......the non-smoking you......the fresh and fragrant person you used to be.

I repeat IT GETS EASIER.

Thank you, lovely people, for your kind words and encouragement. I could never have got this far without the support of this forum and that's for sure.

I do recall those early minutes, hours, days, when the cravings were relentless and I frequently remind myself of them, to keep me on the straight and narrow!
