Champix.?

Hi just a question, have never discussed using champix with my gp, however am using patch,s.

Can any one explain? How it work ? As not sure that patch is the right method for me, am really struggling to day, so was maybe thinking of changing my method .:confused:

Pretty simple really.

You continue smoking for the first 8-14 days of taking the Champix tablets.

Start off with 1/2mg once a day for 4 days

Up the dosage to 1/2mg x 2 per day for a few more days

Then take the 1mg tablets twice a day until you finish them.

Stop smoking around day 8-14.

The tablets are designed to trick your brain into thinking you no longer want to smoke.

But you will still need will power to succeed.

Champix worked for me - started a course in Oct 2013, had my last cig on 1 Nov 2013 - and I'm still smoke free - 5 months in total.

But do seek your GP's advise as Champix will not suit everyone.
