Today i have made it to week 6 without a cigarette. During that time, I made it through an office Christmas party and Christmas day itself. There have been tough times and I still get cravings but I am so glad I didn't succumb. I am also really glad that I will hit the new year knowing I haven't smoked for weeks and so jan 1st will just be another smoke free day
When I had that last cigarette back in November, I didn't have any plan. I wasn't even convinced I was going to quit and that it would be the usual case of stopping for a few days to prove I could do it and then just light up again. But this time a few days became a week, then a fortnight, then a month and now I am 6 weeks!! Guess what I want to say is if I can do this, being a dedicated 10 a day smoker for 20 years, then it really is possible for everyone. I love being a non smoker. None of my mates smoke and I hated being the one who would leave the pub to shiver outside. A guy at work smokes the same brand I did and he stinks!!!
Anyway was no major point or theme to my post. Just wanted to give my update to the forum. Happy new smoke free year to everyone!!!

I dont think quiting should be a joke but nor do I think I should be taken ever so serious! end of day we are all here because we want to be not because were forced. I tell myself If the day comes I want to be a full time smoker again I will be....it hasnt come yet and tbh I dont think it will lol So I think you have the right attitude, atm your happy in your quit and you are not sure of tomorrow, but that is cool.
That makes for a less stressful quit! well done to you xxx

Hi woody - yes you have a major point to your post - and it's a good one.
It proves how easy it is to stop smoking and the advantages of being a non-smoker. Well done bud.

Like Dicko says there is a point, you're showing people like me who really want to stop that it can be done and without going mental in the process!!
