I decided on Tuesday that after 5 days on the 7 mg patches, that I would have a bash at not having a patch at all .......mainly cos I kept forgetting to put the blighters on then having a panic when I discovered I wasn't wearing one!!.....so I've done two days so far..........and so far I don't feel any different.......i'm assuming I've got to have the same nicotine withdrawal but I've told myself that this will be minimal as my reliance has basically diminished since i'm only on 7 mg... so i'm seeing how it all goes...will keep you posted

Ive had craves, dont get me wrong, and they are stronger, but they are not to bad to deal with for now but Im carrying a patch with me just in case! lol
I craved within a day when I went from 21 to 14mg, so expected the same when I went from 14 to 7mg, but 5 days in and ive been lucky not to experience anything from the change. My Boss (cessation nurse) suggested "forgetting" them completely. I dont know why I decided it really, just thought "in for a penny"
I think my head has accepted im a non smoker now....plus I think the fact I feel like total and utter pooh helps!!! lol
Im amazed ive held it this long, and chuffed ive listened to myself! I have given myself some right telling-offs! I would have saved £691.24p.....but my daughter had been spoilt, as has the decorating and of course...NEW BOOTS!!!!
Ive not smoked 1761 ciggies, and I smoked superkings!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh that's just brilliant!! It really is lovely to see you so happy to be quit, especially as it was just a "see how it goes" thing at first - from where i am now, that's really inspiring!!
And wow that's a lot of money!!
Loads better spent on spoiling your little girl and boots

Hi there Im fine thanks just plodding along...you are doing so well really proud of you!!!....hope you feel better soon.
Its brilliant that you feel confident enough to quit the patches im sure any withdrawals will not last to long.
Im going to take my time, my plan is to start cutting bits off my 14mg patches next week to take me down to the 7mg ones. then will stay on them until I fell confident enough to cut them out altogether...I can not risk failing this quit.
I've always thought that while NRT is perfectly ok and each to their own, there needs to be a point where you phase it out. I've never met anyone who actively wants to be a nicotine addict so the desire to break it long term must be there somewhere?
So on the basis that no nicotine is 'business as usual', and the patch is now a fallback position, I'd call that...progress!! Yippee, well done Mel!

I might be talking total rubbish here, but if you get scared could you try sticking one of those square plasters on?
