Hi Dell and welcome to this brilliant place :)

You will find as much support as you need so don't be afraid to ask

There is a group for september/october quitters just click on the quick links along the top and scroll down to social groups and you will find it in there

It does help even more to have people that are going through the same stages

I look forward to reading your updates

:)

Regards

Carol

Welcome

Hi Dell a great decision to stop smoking before it stops you! Most people have a number of attempts before they become non-smokers, no one says it's easy but it's easier than throwing earth on a coffin you will have as much support as you need so make full use of it.

I stopped smoking 10 weeks ago, and I have visited this forum every day sometimes quite a few times a day especially at the start, I have found it has been a major contributor to my quit! So good luck Dell and anyone else who are about to join the freedom trail.

Welcome Dell Boy and well done for deciding not to be a plonker any more :p

Well someone had to say it!!

That reminded me of this, got it on my Facebook feed from somewhere - it's a smoking room somewhere:

Welcome dell, what a great decision you have made. You will save a fortune towards the wedding and you will have lots more time to spend as a married man - what an amazing gift to give to your wife (one or two on this forum would turn that into a double entendre but it would be hilarious lol)

All the best and we are all here to offer whatever help and advice we can.

Never saw this one before, but gave me the chills, wish I had seen it years ago, certainly makes you think!

Good luck Del, you have come to the right place, any amount of support and advice can be found here :D

What annoys me is that when I smoked that kind of thing would have just got an eye roll or something, now it's different!!

Doesn't it just?! It just goes to show how deeply rooted our brainwashing has been about smoking, we've had to totally embed a load of lies about what it supposedly "does for us" to allow us to ignore the truth that we're actually playing Russian Roulette - otherwise our brains would go into "System Overload - Shut Down" every time we tried to light up, desperately trying to protect us!

Ooh yes!!

I was adamant that 1) my smoking wasn't doing me any harm and 2) I'd stop just like that if I noticed anything.

In truth I had (and ignored) an irritating cough and put up with getting breathless too easily - how stupid?

There was a thing on the news about a year ago that said female smokers who stopped before 30 had no more risk of cancer than a non-smoker, that to me back then was a licence to smoke more and keep to my plan of quitting in Feb 2014.

Again, b.loody stupid

Not what you're looking for?
