Hayley, don't worry hun :)

You can lose weight when you've beaten the quitting thing, a bit of extra isn't going to kill you but smoking will!!

Guess I've been lucky 'cos I've only gone up a size, but whatever happens, you're far healthier than when you smoked :)

Anyway, something I used and might help you - melons are calorie free as well as being sweet and yummy, actually some people say they're negative calorie, but either way, you can eat loads without gaining weight.

Your appetite will settle down, smoking suppresses it - partly why i smoked actually, but it does get back to normal - it's part of your body getting used to being a non-smoker.

Go for some walks, eat healthily and you'll be back to normal soon!! For now, don't stress it, you are thousands of times more healthy than when you smoked so that's fab!!

Don't be hard on yourself. your body's going through massive changes and all for the better. Make the weight gain your next challenge once you've settled down into your quit. :)

Hi Hayley well done on your quit as it happens because of health reasons I needed to quit smoking and lose weight so in another 3 hours I will have been a non-smoker for 8 weeks and by using the website below, and they also have an app! I have lost 9.5 lbs since the 15th of July it's surprising what we can do when the Doctor gives you the alternative of DEATH myfitnesspal.com

Thanks all, see I have got to be careful, just over 2yrs ago I was 12stone... 3ish months after I was 7.5stone... living off half a pack of polos and a liter of energydrink a day.... then making myself sick up to maybe 10 to 15 times a day.... after I had enough, no energy n as a community carer working 7days a week.... I went to doctors and got diagnosed with bulimia... not how I want to do it again... although the 7.5stone was fab... ive also got PCOS, so not easy to lose weight x

Hayley if you've had an eating disorder in the past then obviously you need to consult a Dr before you try any kind of diet...they can give you a proper eating plan if you need to lose weight. You may find your weight levels out soon anyway :)
