Easy to start: So damn difficult to stop... - No Smoking Day
Easy to start
Champix
Hi I am on day 11 of my quit and my new life of being a non-smoker and up to now it's been fairly easy I am using Champix which you can get off your Doctor on prescription you continue to smoke for at least 8 days once you have started the course in my case it was day 8 by then the taste of the cigarette had gone and it was quite vile some take longer to stop you will know when you are ready it's not a magic tablet but it does help to take the craving away the only side effect in my case is I have murdered 28 people lol Good Luck with your quit the freedom is wonderful.
Just hang in there
It does get easier with time. I know it's hard but the good days will start to outweigh the bad days soon enough. Just try have faith that it will get sooooooo much better in a relatively short time.
Sarah
Hi ive taken my first tablet today, threw up within 10mins of taking it. Not sure if it is due to tablet or not or whether it has even had a chance to get in my system. However having read other threads on champix i will do things differently tomorrow and eat before taking it
I always felt sick with it unless I ate first! Good luck.
Thanks sjt13 i gave up some years ago for almost 2yrs and did it cold turkey but since then all attempts have failed. Hate to admit i couldnt even give up when i was pregnant last year, but im more determined than ever now to kick the habit ........ sometimes i dont even know why i smoke !!!!!!
Im on the patches and its working great for me, lots of water and I'm changing my days what I do. I'm nearly at day 12, what has been a help to me is thinking how awful I felt my first day and it makes me think no way I want to feel like that again, honestly it gives me the Willys thinking of it.
Day1
As i write this.i smoke.usually i can hang on from 2 a.m till 5 p.m.after that my smoke sense starts tingling
Hey hope u decide to quit.
Take it one second/minute/hour/day at a time and don't start stressing out about never being able to smoke again. you are not missing anything!! Also Deep breathing during cravings worked well for me the first 2 days.
One fun thing about quitting (for me) was i felt drunk or maybe alittle stoned for the first few days from all that extra oxygen in my blood !
you can do this, but attitude is everything
