Qustion ??

After many failed attempts to quit cold turkey, working on the basis that if you keep doing the same thing you will get the same result. I am now using an e-cig and to be honest I am finding it all quite easy this time. The question I keep asking myself though is , Have I really stopped smoking or just inhaling fewer nasty chemicals ? What are your thoughts ?

Hi Barrie :)

Um you're going to get lots of different answers to this one!!

It's good you're not smoking real ones any more, but my opinion is that you swap one addiction for another if you intend to use an e-cig indefinitely. If it's a means to an end that's different though. :)

Hi Barry,

Anything that stops you smoking is good. Hope you have a good e-cig as some of the cheap ones are full of strange substances. I used one for a while when drinking alcohol. I also used a cartridge with zero nicotine. I didn't have any trouble stopping using it.

Oh I see it as a means to an end. I tried the one giant leap several times , did'nt work for me, I have huge respect for those who it did work for. This time I am going with baby steps :)

I know exactly what you mean there :)

Like Una said anything that stops you smoking is a good thing, and you can taper off the strengths of the liquid and filters for it like patches which helps!!

Brilliant

I met a fella last week whilst standing outside in the cold puffing away as usual.

He said to me Oh I have'nt USED those for a while now. Are you an ex-smoker yourself then I asked.

No not at all I am a smoker I just have'nt USED those in a while was the reply.

How long have you been off them I asked.

Erm 17 years he replied but I will always be smoker I just dont USE fags anymore :)

Brilliant mindset in my opinion he puts himself under no pressure not to smoke he just chooses not to.:)
