I am in need of some advice

I am going away soon and I plan on having stopped my use of patches. I know I will be drinking in the evening and there will be people around me smoking.

I def don't want to smoke but I don't want to wear patches, I resisted the use of e cigs as I don't want the hand to mouth action, gum &beer no thanks .

Stay in my hotel room???

If anyone has advice on what they did or are planning to do.

Hey LT, I can't comment on your patches, I've no experience of them, but I stayed away from smoking areas when I first quit. Not everyone agreed with this to my surprise (at the time!!) but it worked for me.

Will you have access to the forum while you're away?

For some reason I have been able to be in bars and around people that are smoking without a huge amount of cravings. Not sure why.... I have not gotten crazy drunk or anything - so maybe that has helped. I would hate to think you would have to spend your vacation nights in the room. That's no fun. Keep in mind if you do go out for some drinks - the hangover is not bad at all like it was when you did smoke. That is a BIG incentive! Go out if you think you can - and just don't drink too much where you are not thinking clearly. If you think you might cave - then yeah spend then night in your room. One night of fun is not worth you starting to smoke again.

Firstly I should say that I've not used patches so I probably don't know what I'm talking about:) - BUT - if you feel happy with the patches and they are working for you, why not delay coming off them until after you've been away? You are now tobacco free - which is great - but you still have the nicotine addiction to deal with, so if you don't feel you're able to cope with coming off the patches and going away, carry on with them until you're back?

Not what you're looking for?
