Hi there, I am using Champix and was wondering if any of you felt any different when you stopped using it? Did your cravings get worse? Also, I have Vasculitis and was wondering if I can use other medication with the Champix.
Thank you!

I used Champix 4 years ago and did not notice any difference when I came off it. I did not find it difficult at all but the side effects of champix were quite hard for me. i stopped smoking for over 4 months but then I was very stupid and forced myself to smoke again. It took me several weeks of forcing myself to smoke before I managed to "enjoy" a cigarette again. I know it probably sounds odd!!
I think you should speak to your gp about your other question - I personally know nothing about that!
Vicki,
If you delve into the archives you will find loads of people have stopped taking Champix before they've completed the standard twelve week course, and in most cases it was because it just 'felt right'. It's a very effective drug for the vast majority (thoough can have some pretty nasty side effects).
To answer your question, I would say don't worry about coming off it, even if it's before the full twelve week duration, so long as you feel solid / confident in your quit. You're well beyond the physical addiction and it's all in the mind now. So long as you don't confuse confidence with complacency you should be on the home road
Thank you!
I spoke to my gp this morning and told him i will use the Champix till i feel my cravings have become easier to handle. I also do feel it is not necessary at all for my to get an Maintanance pack after this. I feel great, i get about 2-3 bad cravings a day, but i get through it with determination and reminding myself way i stopped in the first place. Also i know out of experience that taking ONE puff more is SO NOT WORTH IT!!! And i just go on.
The GP almost fell off his chair this morning when i told him i'm on Day 3. He still wanted to preach to me, i cut him off and helped him right. Hahahaha.
Feeling gooood. Still taking baby steps, but i feel great. Gained too much already.:p;)
