people asking you how's the not smoking going?

I know this might sound weird but it's really bugging me. I'm polite and tell them no I haven't smoked (6 weeks, 2 days) but really I want to scream at them that I don't smoke. full stop. I don't need to smoke, I don't want to smoke, there will be no more smoking EVER. so stop blimmin asking me.

Smoking is almost a complete non issue to me now. I refuse to torture myself with spending the rest of my life trying to give up smoking. I'm totally done with it.

Grrrrrrrrr needed a rant half the time I swear my friends who still smoke are only asking because they're envious that they haven't managed it. I'm going to be surrounded by smokers next weekend and I swear if they start waving fags in front of my face asking me if i'm tempted i'm going to punch one of them. Why do people do that?

Other than that I feel amazing Hope everyone else is doing well.

But heck, if they're trying to tease you they flipping deserve it

I can understand why you feel like it - you're a proper non-smoker so it just reminds you of the old you (if that makes sense) while I'm on my last of goodness knows how many quits that have all failed so am chuffed to bits to be a non-smoker

Some smokers *do* want you to fail in a way 'cos then it would justify their not trying to quit. Sad what the addiction turns people into isn't it?

My family and friends were under strict instructions NOT to even mention it at all so I know just what you mean!

The girls at work here did the same thing, the ones who smoke anyway

Didn't ask them to, but they wouldn't mention smoking or cigarettes to me or my quit buddy for ages!!

It drives me so mad that I haven't told anyone I know. I've only had two brief conversations with sales staff when buying NRT and one of them was also trying to quit. It's a personal battle for me and I don't want the irritation of constant, well-meaning enquiries.

I didn't really like people asking at first, because I was a bit ashamed to say that I was finding it hard. I wanted to be proud and didn't want other smokers to look at me and be put off! Lol.

But now I rant and rave about it all the time. I'm REALLY proud of myself and, when asked, am happy to tell other smokers that it's been well worth the few weeks that I was a bit of a misery guts!

I have been smoke free for over 3 years now(only achievable with the support from this forum)and I still love people to ask, how is the quit going, then I watch their faces drop a little when I say I am still a none smoker, and in the next breath I say and how is your quit knowing full well they haven't lasted more than a couple of days and given up or have never tried, their loss LOL

So when they ask smile proudly and pat your self on the back and say I am so quit because you are doing the thing they would so love to do, that's succeed at stopping smoking.
