Hi. Day seven after stopping a 20 a day habit for forty years. I am ashamed to say that, towards the end of my smoking days, I would sometimes wake in the night and not be able to get back to sleep until I had gone downstairs and had a puff. I am now using the 24 hour patches at night and I have to say that when I wake during the night now I have no craving to get up and have a ciggy. Why then, do I still get many cravings during the day even though I still have the patch on? Sometimes I think it would be nice if I could stay asleep for six months and then when I wake up I will be craving free!

HI Craig

It wasn't every night and more so if I had something on my mind but not good whatever. Have your daytime cravings started to subside yet and are you using any NRT?

I used to do that if I had a nightmare or if I was wound up.

If you find you get bad dreams or disturbed sleep, taking the patch off before you go to bed really helps :)

Hey nooney....

I'm in a similar place and timeframe....I can't give you the answers you need but can only sayhow its been for me this time round,

I have the same problem, with the day time angst ( usually between 4-7pm).... Believe it or not, last few days I've found it better to take the patch off for an hour or so... Have a hot shower then put it back on again. Taking it off seems to makes the angst go for a bit. Then a fresh one on after.

I've also found that takin them off at night helps.... It does mean you use 2 a day, but its still cheaper than smokes.
