I'm armed with patches and my Allen Carr, need to stay strong, stay away from having a drink (my cig time trigger)....and lose some weight....get out there exercising....
Last cig last night, put on a 24 hour patch last night, had the weirdest dreams...
But am now ready to face the new me!
I CAN DO IT!!!

You do get weird dreams on the patches, am back on them to kick the e-cig I stupidly got hooked on, but if you take them off overnight it doesn't seem to affect you too badly
Good to hear you are considering getting on the quit wagon again (à la Max :)).
Also sad to read about your history – craving, quitting, etc.
I am not going to tell you that all will be fine, we are humans and bla bla. No my dear – you will not hear that from me!
So, there is only one advice I have for you: sit down and have an open and true conversation with yourself. Write it all down – why you want to stop, do you really want to stop, what are the triggers and what are you going to do about it. Have a plan A, B, C and D if it helps you until you see the problem from all angles and have risks covered.
You are the only one who can answer these questions. Everyone here is incredible supportive but you must figure it out for yourself. The will and determination has to come from you.
Please do me a favor and prioritize: smoking, drinking, and loosing weight?
Quitting smoking and keeping it that way takes conviction, time and sacrifice. Tackle one challenge at the time. Be hard on yourself but be realistic about it.
Get a wallboard and hang it in your home. Stick on it pictures of your family, quotes, icons or any info which helps you visualize why you wanna do it, who you want to be, what would you like to do next and what you want to achieve.
Every time you are on low mood have a look at the board and ask yourself if 5 minutes of a nasty stick is really worth trashing everything away.
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, I appreciate it. Lots I good tips there too!
The patches I am on are the 24 hr ones! To e honest, although the dreams can be a little scary, for some odd reason I like them!!!' Like I am watching a film!!!
Although these ones are not as good as previous ones.....they just don't stick well, and so I have had moments of paranoir today, where I was worrying I wasn't getting the nicotine....But I can speak with my NHS advisor and hopefully get them changed. I MUST keep busy, then my mind doesn't wander to the stinking addiction!!
Lovely to see the 'old' members and new.....thanks for welcoming me back. Xxxx
