Well hasn't the time flown by - one calendar month since Christmas Eve, so one calendar month since my last cigarette!
Those unexpected little health benefits keep appearing, things that smoking robbed you of so slowly and subtly that you hardly noticed they'd gone - increased energy, breathing deeper, better skin complexion & colour, fingers and toes don't feel numb within two minutes of going out in the cold. I've been here before but these still take me by surprise - how soon we forget!!
Smoking and drinking were great bedfellows for me, so I've just about stopped drinking now as well, been careful with diet too resulting in very rapid weight loss - so feeling pretty marvellous all round
I've cut back on the Champix to just one pill a day, might stop alltogether once I've finished the current packet (may taper off to half a pill a day and see how I do like that first).
Into month two - life is good!

Well done Egg! Christmas Eve? Why did you pick that date? I always wonder about that because I know for a fact that I could not have done that... Too many celebratory drinks to be had and they went hand in hand for me. 1 month is great 11 more and you will walk into the penthouse keep it going and keep letting us know how you are doing
Well done Egg!!! I'm right behind you, I stopped Christmas Day 3pm. Do not know how I have done it, still want a smoke a few times a day especially if stressed out. Instead of reaching for a cigarette I meditate for a while and feel much better.
One thing I did not expect is that my body feels cleaner, not surprising since the other night, all my toxins came out at once lol - was in bathroom for ages
I cant eat a large meal now - my stomach blows up - so am taking natural yoghurt and that helps a lot. I expected to be eating non stop but I dont seem to be, but am still eating sweets.
So now I dont smoke, dont drink, dont eat as much, dont eat meat - is there anything left for me not to do??
But I do feel cleaner and happier and I love to wear perfume and be able to smell it.
I know I wont smoke again, but I might have the odd drink here and there.

Why did I pick that date? Well if you can stop at Christmas, then it should all be downhill from there:).
It really was a bit of a spur of the moment thing, I'd been thinking for months 'I've got to do something about this', and so the week before I ordered a supply of Champix online. Christmas Day was day 7 on the pills and so I just set that as my first smoke free day.
Thanks for the encouragement, it really helps to stay strong.
