Not sleeping on patches

Hi :)

I'm using the 24h patches and they're handling my cravings really well *but* they're giving me lousy nights sleep and horrible dreams so I'm wondering if I can start taking the patch off overnight without messing up my quit?

Tomorrow's the start of my 4th week if that makes any difference!!

Thanks, Gemma xx

Hi there

Sorry to hear the patches are messing up your sleep, i must admit that was one side effect i did not like when i did a quit with them along with the redness i would get but that was just me. I would speak to your local nurse or Dr and failing that ask at the pharmacy what they think as i did remove mine at night then changed to the i think its 16hr patches and they helped.

I think there are others on here that have quit with the patches so may be able to offer better advice than me. :/ Good luck though

I hope you can get a better answer though and sorry i could not help much.

Have a lovely New Year.

I took mine off at night. Didn't bother changing to the 16 hour patches

Hey Gem

I used 24 hour patches too, and also had insomnia, restless nights and vivid dreams. I did same as Una, at the 6 week mark I just took patch off at night, sleep improved gradually, and dreams stopped almost immediately.

It's no joke not getting slept, so hopefully your normal sleeping routine will resume soon!

Thanks for that Fi, am going to give it a go tonight 'cos it's getting ridiculous!!

The patches are doing a fab job of keeping me off the fags but I would love to go to sleep without waking up so often!!

Shame it's not nice vivid dreams, always nightmares.

Yeah they are awful, I have the same on Champix. But my partner did patches and after 2 nights it was crazy, so she took it off at night, got up at 6am dived in shower, threw a patch on and went back to bed for an hour. She reckons it worked heaps better and been of cigs for over a year! Yeah I have some weirdo dreams man..............
