2nd Attempt - day 90

Hi guys,

never thought i would be back here again.

I am now trying again (2nd real attempt) and am on day 90.

Finding it really difficult. Been researching online and apparently the third month is one of the hardest.

I am suffering from anxiety, insomnia , irritability, lack of concentration and not to mention the worst cravings since i quit.

I haven't given up though ! I am running everyday and then eating lots of cake and drinking lots of coffee to help with the cravings!.

Just hoping these days will be over soon dont think i can take much more of this torture.

Hey Princess

welcome back! Day 90? I couldn't have done that without the help of this forum, is this your first post since you quit again?

You're doing so well, I'm on around that mark myself (haven't counted in a while!) and I can relate to the irritability, eating, running, the lot. Stick with it, you know it makes sense as the saying goes! Keep posting on here and keep with the cake :D

yup first post since last quit

Hi AngryBear yes it was my first post since my last quit 2 years ago.

I guess I needed to know that i wasn't alone and that others were going through it with me :)

thanks for the support.

Well, day 90 by yourself is monumental in my book; I wouldn't have stood a chance. Hope you feel better soon, you deserve it!

You can do it girl!

Don't throw 90 days away now. I'm at 8 months and had all those symptoms you speak of but they are now gone.

Was it tough to start with? Yes.

Is it still tough now? No.

Am I glad I persevered with the suffering? You betcha!

Will I smoke again? No!

Stick with it, you'll be so glad you did soon. :D

wow

Captain, your words have really helped :)

You guys are the best.

I'm just feeling sorry for myself.. i'll be ok.

I just worry, right now as i cant say for certain that i wont ever smoke again because its sooooo testing this time. I am sure once I am over the worst of it i will think differently

You don't have to say you'll never smoke again Princess, just say you won't smoke today.

If a strong crave hits, just say you won't smoke for the next hour.

Honestly it does get better.

It's when you and your mind start realising that not smoking is becoming normal rather than something you are struggling to do.

Stay strong and you'll look back in the future and wonder why you ever smoked in the first place

thanks Captain. That is actually really good advice. Telling yourself you won't smoke for the next hour is more doable than NEVER EVER!

Been a tough few weeks. The guy I have been getting quite close to over the years at work has completely broken me. turns out hes been in a serious relationship for at least a year.

If ever i needed a smoke it would be now :(

I certainly struggled around that point and i can remember it quite clearly. Thankfully i was prepared for it after educating myself. It still took some effort to get through it but i passed with flying colours and so can you.

Just remember it won't last and when you reach your next goal then celebrate it.

It will start to get a bit easier soon ;)

Well done on getting to 3 months. 90 days has always been the trip point for me in the past but I'm determined to take it a day a time and live in the now.

I read on an American forum that they call it the 3 syndrome (or something), 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months seeming to be the times that are felt to be hardest by most people.

Keep at it and let us know how it's going.
